Schulich architect designs Baha’i temple

Toronto architect Siamak Hariri, whose firm Hariri Pontarini Architects designed York’s new Schulich School of Business,  recently won an international competition for the Baha’i House of Worship near Santiago, Chile, reported The Globe and Mail July 16. Called Temple of Light by Hariri and designated as the Baha’i mother temple for all of South America, it features an organic form sheathed in nine veils of alabaster. The architectural firm has produced the McKinsey & Co. headquarters in Toronto, a classic of urban elegance, said Globe writer Lisa Rochon, and is also designing a west-end Toronto film centre and screening room commissioned by director Atom Egoyan.
