Commuters: battle pollution and be a winner

Join the battle against pollution – and win great prizes.

York University, with the Black Creek Regional Transportation Management Association (BCRTMA), has linked with Pollution Probe’s Clean Air Commute 2003, June 23-27. The event is being held to tackle smog in the Greater Toronto Area.

In conjunction with the event, the University is holding a contest. Here’s all you have to do: From June 23 to 27, take public transit, carpool, bike, rollerblade, walk – do anything but drive alone. Even if you can only do this for one day, it still counts.

Diary cards (entry forms) will be distributed to offices on campus; you can also pick them up from the parking office at 155 Campus Walk or download them from www.blackcreekcarpool.org. Return the cards to 155 Campus Walk, Room 204, or jhayward@bcrtma.org by June 30 and you’ll be entered into the contest.

There will be a draw at York University for a Raleigh Matterhorn Mountain Bike, movie tickets, GO Transit Prize packs and more. In addition, there will also be GTA-wide prize draws for a $2,000 Nike fitness package and two vacation trips: a three-day adventure from Canadian Canoe and Kayak Trips Wilderness Adventures and a three-night stay at the Delta Rocky Crest Resort in the Muskokas.
