The No. 6 seeded St. Francis Xavier University X-Men upset the No. 1 ranked University of Alberta Golden Bears in a thrilling 3-2 double overtime victory March 20 in the opening game of the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) Men’s Hockey Championship, held at the Aitken University Center in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
As a result, the York Yeomen played their first game of the CIS National Championship Friday, March 21 against Alberta and their second against St. Francis Xavier Saturday, March 22.
