Construction bulletin – Ian Macdonald Boulevard

The following is a message from York’s Facilities Development.

Road closure

In order to complete a storm sewer connection, Ian Macdonald Boulevard from Vanier Lane to York Boulevard westbound will be closed to vehicular traffic on Saturday, Dec. 7. Access to the York Lanes Parking Structure will remain open to traffic.

Asphalt paving

We expect that final surface paving on Ian Macdonald Boulevard will proceed sometime next week (the week of Dec. 9-14). The paving process is weather sensitive, so a decision on exact dates/times will be made next week. We will send out a follow-up notice once this date is determined.

The work will be completed in two phases. Preparation of the asphalt base will take approximately 1/2 day. Asphalt surfacing will proceed the following day, and should be completed in one day.

Each phase of this work requires closure of the Ian Macdonald Blvd. northbound lane, from Vanier Lane to Fine Arts Road. There will be two short-term closures, each of about 30 minutes, where York Boulevard westbound and eastbound will be closed. The contractor will provide traffic control. Expect delays when travelling through this area.
