BMO’s chief economist speaks to York group

Sherry Cooper, executive vice-president, BMO Financial Group, and chief economist, BMO Nesbitt Burns, was guest speaker at the Nov. 27 breakfast meeting of the York Business and Professional Alliance (YBPA). The mandate of the YBPA is to assist the York University Foundation in promoting the mission, plans and priorities of the University to businesses and professionals in the Greater Toronto Area.

Cooper’s presentation, “Volatility: Finding a Bottom”, examined the latest developments in today’s constantly changing economic and financial landscape, and offered insights into near-term risks and a successful long-run financial strategy.

In constant demand as a speaker and writer because of her ability to simplify and demystify the murky waters of economics and finance, Cooper ranked the top GDP forecaster in the United States by Bloomberg News. She is the author of two best-selling books, The Cooper Files and Ride the Wave.
