The event will focus on reconciliation and a variety of panellists from across the York University community have been invited to speak about what reconciliation in action means to them.
The Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies (LA&PS) is pleased to announce the launch of its Student Numeracy Assistance Centre at Keele (SNACK), which will provide students with extensive support in mathematics, statistics and Microsoft Excel.
The series’ inaugural talk, “The Symbolic Language of Wampum Diplomacy,” will take place Sept. 28 and will feature Anishinaabe historian and York Assistant Professor Alan Corbiere; Tuscarora writer, historian and curator Rick Hill; and interdisciplinary Kanienkehaka artist Ange Loft.
The first webinar of this year’s Moving Forward series is titled “Being a first-generation student: What it means to be first in your family to go to university.” Join the conversation on Oct. 5 from noon to 1 p.m.

The Canadian Centre for Disease Modelling based at York University was one of the co-organizers for a virtual symposium on COVID-19 and other infectious diseases that took place Sept. 14 to 18. The symposium also served as a valuable experiential learning opportunity for young researchers.
Osgoode Professional Development (OsgoodePD) has been recognized for its innovative execution in converting an in-person, skills-based program into an online format.
