Golf tournament to benefit FES students

Golf enthusiasts take note, on June 23, the Faculty of Environmental Studies (FES) is hosting its seventh annual golf tournament to benefit the Adrienne and Donna Pocock Memorial Award in FES. Since its inception, the endowment has supported 41 students and contributed more than $15,000 to the award.

The tournament will take place at the Shawneeki Golf Course at 18543 Woodbine Ave., Sharon, Ontario. It starts at 11 a.m. and will continue into the evening. The cost for each ticket is $140. To register, go to https://fes.apps01.yorku.ca/machform/view.php?id=88915.

The cost of a ticket includes green fees, power cart, BBQ lunch, dinner, prizes and a $10,000 hole-in-one chance – $22 from each ticket sold will go towards the fund.

The tournament schedule is as follows:

11 a.m. – Check in and 50/50 putting contest
12 p.m. – BBQ Lunch
1 p.m. – Shotgun tee off. Scramble (rules provided)
4 p.m. – Après golf in the clubhouse
5 p.m. – Dinner
6 p.m. – Prizes for skills, scoring and more

After registering, golfers will pay the tournament fee on-site at the proshop on the day of the event.
