Electrical service interruption will impact steam and chilled water

In order to prepare for second phase of electrical Postsecondary Institutions Strategic Investment Fund (SIF) project upgrades at the Keele Main Substation the following outages are required (two dates).

There will be electrical service interruptions on Oct. 13, from 6:30 to 6:45am to only the Central Utilities Building, 190 Albany Road and Physical Resources Building. This will also cause a reduction in campus steam and chilled water supply until resets are complete and pressure resumes by 7:30am.

The following buildings will have their electrical source switched from the Keele Main Sub to the Steeles Main Sub on Oct. 16. At 06:30am, an electrical shut down of 2 to 3 minutes will start, to each to the following buildings (in the order shown). There will be a 10 minute interval between each service interruption in the following buildings.

  • Kinsmen
  • Computer Methods Building
  • Stong College, Kitchen and Residence
  • Vanier College and Residence
  • Winters College and Residence
  • McLaughlin College and Tatham Hall Residence

Emergency power will not be affected by the shutdown.
