Notice to the community on Microsoft Office 365 transition

This is a notice to the York University community from Interim Chief Information Officer Fariba Rawhani:

In April, we shared with you the exciting news that York University is moving to Microsoft Office 365, including email, calendaring and other functionality. The Office 365 suite of new and powerful collaboration tools will be launched to the York community in September.

Those currently using Lotus Notes for email and calendaring will have their email migrated to Microsoft Outlook. The rollout will begin in September and it is scheduled to be completed by the middle of December. Those not using Lotus Notes email will not be affected by this change. Users being migrated will receive more information from their technical support unit prior to their migration date.

To provide a smooth transition to Office 365, training will be delivered to the community before and during the migration period.

To stay informed about the project, visit the Office 365 at York website. There, you will find the most up-to-date information on schedules and training, and answers to some of the questions you may have. We will continue to provide you with regular updates via email, YFile and yu link.

If you have any further questions or comments, contact the project team at o365@yorku.ca.
