A new study exploring the role of mindfulness and exercise in improving employee health is seeking participants. Specifically, the study’s research lead, York PhD candidate Shalini Moonsammy, is looking for full-time faculty or employees who feel they are too busy to fit exercise into their work days. The study has received research ethics approval.

Up to 30 study participants are needed and they must be willing to participate in a guided walking exercise program or a walking exercise/meditation study that will take place on campus for a period of approximately three months. Participants must be in good health and willing to take part in an initial fitness assessment of approximately 90 minutes to be conducted at the start of the study, an assessment at the completion of the study and a follow-up assessment to be done three months after the end of the study.

If you are interested in this free opportunity to improve your fitness and wellness while at the same time making a contribution to a research study, email Shalini Moonsammy at yorkwalkingexercise@gmail.com.
