On Nov. 2, the York University Bookstore (YUB) will be moving into three temporary locations in York Lanes that will be known as YUB Central, YUB East and YUB West, as renovations get underway at the main bookstore location. The York University Bookstore’s lower level will remain open throughout the renovations and will be the location for all textbooks and general books.
A new, accessible temporary entrance will be created on the east side of York Lanes, next to Kaneff Tower. Inside, stairs and an elevator will provide direct access to the main bookstore on the lower level. Two temporary stores will open in York Lanes during the renovation period.
Here’s a guide to finding what you need during the renovations:
- YUB Central – the main bookstore, located on the lower level of the current bookstore site (enter from the new door on the east side of York Lanes using either the stairs or accessible elevator). See the Oct. 12 YFile story. The YUB Central location offers:
- Textbooks,
- General books.
- YUB East – located in York Lanes (Unit 40 near the Campus Dry Cleaners). The YUB East offers:
- York-branded clothing and gift items.
- YUB West – located in York Lanes (Unit 31 near the Dental Clinic). The YUB West offers:
- Stationery,
- Art Supplies.
The York University Bookstore and the York University Development Corporation (YUDC) are building a new and exciting Bookstore to better serve the York community. See the Aug. 12 YFile story. The reopening of the redesigned and revitalized YU Bookstore is targeted for the summer of 2016.
