York University’s annual appeal to its employees kicked off this week with the 2014 Faculty and Staff Campaign.
To help support York’s vision to build a culture of student success, academic and research excellence, and community engagement, President and Vice-Chancellor Mamdouh Shoukri is encouraging all faculty and staff to give generously to the University’s annual fund this year.
“Our aim is to create the best possible learning experience for our students,” Shoukri says. “Financial contributions from our valued faculty and staff will not only help us to do that, but they will serve as an endorsement of the importance of working together to strengthen York and will inspire others to give.”
Not unlike the award-winning This is my time campaign, which has allowed York to convey its distinct brand and what sets it apart, York’s annual fund is an integral part of the University’s fundraising effort. While York benefits from provincial funding to cover the basics of a solid education, it relies heavily on private donations to fund professorships, scholarships, research, infrastructure and other needs.
“Part of our success at York is the dedication and hard work of our faculty and staff,” Shoukri says. “I invite them to show their York pride and invest in York’s future by supporting this year’s Faculty and Staff Campaign.”
