At a University ceremony held Thursday, May 9, the York Research Tower was officially re-named the Kaneff Tower, in recognition of a significant gift to York University from Ignat Kaneff and his family.

Occupants of the Kaneff Tower should ensure that stationery, business cards, print materials and electronic media are updated to reflect this name change.  University community members should note that University Information Technology has already updated mailing addresses on the ATLAS Directory and electronic campus maps to reflect the change in the building name. Other service departments, including Human Resources, are also in the process of updating data records.  Some signage changes have already been implemented; others are in progress. Campus Services & Business Operations is also updating external emergency management agencies.

For more information on the renaming of the York Research Tower to the Kaneff Tower, see the story, Ignat Kaneff donates $5 million to York’s Lassonde School of Engineering, in the May 13 issue of YFile.
