Steeles Avenue West eastbound lane restrictions begin Jan. 9

Beginning at 10am on Wednesday, Jan. 9, Steeles Avenue West will be restricted to one lane eastbound between Murray Ross Parkway and Northwest Gate for traffic bridge installation work. This eastbound lane restriction is anticipated to last for approximately one month. Two lanes will remain open westbound and one lane will remain open eastbound at all times. Due to the nature of the work, motorists and transit users may face traffic delays.

Paid duty officers will be on Steeles Avenue West directing traffic during the lane restrictions.

A new sidewalk is open on the north side of Steeles Avenue West from west of Founders Road to east of Murray Ross Parkway. The sidewalk on the south side of Steeles Avenue West at Northwest Gate is now closed. Pedestrians should use the sidewalk on the north side of Steeles Avenue West.

The speed limit has been reduced on Steeles Avenue West between Jane Street and Keele Street to 50 km/h and will be strictly enforced by Toronto Police.
