York Bookstore bringing in books and course kits for 2013 winter courses

books on a shelf

Although the York Bookstore has continually requested that all Faculties submit their textbook and course kit requests early, it is understood that some course directors cannot determine their requirements until close to the actual start of the term.

Some book orders come from theUnited States,Europeand elsewhere and may take up to two months to arrive, but most books can be ordered quickly. Book buyers are at the ready to work with faculty. The Bookstore and the course kit centre do not stop in December – they continue (as needed) through the break to ensure books are on the shelves in January.

Similarly, course kits may take some time to research, negotiate rights and clear copyright. The Bookstore is well prepared to accept “last minute” winter course kit requests, and work on expediting production. Course kit staff will advise on timing and in some cases will produce course kits in two parts to have materials available for the first weeks of the winter term.

Textbook (including eBook) orders can be sent to the bookstore buyers in person, via phone and e-mail, or with the online request form.

Course kits can be ordered in person at the course kit centre, which is in the main level of the Keele Campus Bookstore, or by contacting ext. 40727, the coordinator at ext. 22960, or by visiting the York Bookstore website Faculty Services page.
