York’s first ‘flash’ picnic puts fun back in the sun

What would happen if a large number of York staff gathered together for lunch at the same time, on the same day and just enjoyed each other’s company? That was the scene last Thursday, Aug. 11, during York University’s first "flash" picnic, which took place on the Vanier College field.

More than 100 staff gathered for the picnic, which featured a rousing cheer by campers enrolled in the York Youth Connection Summer Camp, some great food, conversation and an impromptu game of "flash" Frisbee. The event included a contest for the best picnic blanket, bubble blowing, a gourmet spread by the folks in Campus Services & Business Operations and much more.
