The York flag will fly at half-mast from 1pm today until 5pm tomorrow afternoon in memory of Qian (Necole) Liu.
Ms. Liu, 23, was a student enrolled in the York University English Language Institute. She died on Friday, April 15 in her apartment in The Village, a private housing development south of the University. Her death is being investigated by the Toronto Police Service.
"Qian’s death is a terrible tragedy and our entire community mourns the loss of a promising young student. Our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy go out to her family, friends and classmates," said President & Vice-Chancellor Mamdouh Shoukri in a message to the community on Monday (see YFile, April 19).
