Annual Vanier College Book Sale this week offers thousands of choices

Vanier College has collected books for the past year for its 6th annual Vanier College Book Sale, which will run until Oct. 2 and offers thousands of new and used books that have been donated by the York community.

The Master’s Office and their team of volunteers have collected so many books for this year’s sale that the stock will be refreshed daily.

In addition to a treasure trove of mysteries, popular fiction, self-help tomes, textbooks, cookbooks and biographies, there will also be reference, languages and books for all student needs.

Some of the items donated are brand new and haven’t been taken out of their plastic covers. There are also a number of real finds – rare and antiquarian books that are well preserved.

Funds raised by the sale will go directly into student space at Vanier College. Last year, $12,000 was raised and the proceeds were used to purchase computers and furnishings for student clubs, AV equipment for the college’s main student space, the Renaissance Room and assorted student projects

The 6th annual Vanier College Book Sale will run daily, starting today, from 9:30am to 7pm, until Friday, Oct. 2.

The books will be available at two locations, 152 Founders Assembly Hall and 001 Vanier College, both on York’s Keele campus.
