Atkinson celebrates its rich and colourful history

The Final Tribute to the Atkinson Faculty of Liberal & Professional Studies, a celebration of Atkinson and the contributions made by each individual department, school or unit over the years, as well as a commemorative book launch for Room to Grow: Celebrating Atkinson’s Living Legacy, have been organized by the Atkinson Heritage Committee.

The book is a rich collection of stories, memories and anecdotes that bring to life Atkinson’s history and celebrate everything the Faculty was, is, and will become.

The event will take place Thursday, June 18, from 2 to 5pm. From 2 to 3pm, the Atkinson time capsule will be opened, followed by formal presentations and a community photo outside the north end of the Atkinson Building.

From 3 to 4pm the celebration of the commemorative book as well as the sharing of stories and memories from Atkinson departments, schools and units will take place in Michelangelo’s Restaurant in the basement of Atkinson, followed by mingling and refreshments from 4 to 5pm.
