Get ‘health smart’ at York’s annual health fair

Get out of the cold and get “health smart” by checking out York’s annual health fair tomorrow, March 4, from 10am to 3pm in the Vari Hall rotunda. Organized by York’s Health Education & Promotion unit, this annual event is full of ideas, information and free stuff on how to live a healthier life and is of interest to students, staff and faculty.

Guest exhibitors from the Greater Toronto Area join with various departments and divisions at York to provide free information on areas related to health and wellbeing including healthy eating, physical activity, stress management and healthy sexuality. Some of the exhibitors include Sheena’s Place, Sport York, York’s Counseling & Development Centre, Toronto Public Health – Eat Smart and the Canadian Blood Services.

When you visit the health fair, you will be encouraged to visit the each exhibitor’s booth. Once there, you will receive a sticker on a Bingo card. Once you have collected two lines of stickers, you will be able to enter a prize draw for a chance to win great prizes. There are also plenty of freebies.  

This health fair is sponsored by Health Education & Promotion, located within the Centre for Student Community & Leadership Development at York University.
