Sport and rec activities abound for everyone during the labour dispute

If you find yourself with time to spare because there are no classes to go to, meetings to attend or marking to do, Sport & Recreation York has plenty of programming still going on to keep you active and occupied. All normally scheduled activities and events in fitness and lifestyle, intramural and inter-university sport will continue as usual.

For everyone wanting to get fit, socialize and have fun, the fitness and lifestyle program has something for everyone. The Fitness Centre is open from 6am to 10pm Monday through Friday and 9am to 5:30pm on Saturday and Sunday. Staff are still available to help you reach your training goals.

For those that like to sweat it out to great tunes there are plenty of opportunities in group fitness. Visit the Recreation York Web site for a schedule of aerobic, spin, circuit plus and boot camp classes. There is also a diverse mix of dance, martial arts and mind/body fitness classes that are sure to provide you with interesting and exciting activities.

There are also plenty of opportunities for the sport fanatic. Intramural programming continues with men’s and women’s intramural basketball beginning on Monday, Nov. 10. For those itching for some high octane sporting action, be sure to visit the Sport York Web site for playing schedules of all your favourite York Lions teams.
