Unused Aeroplan Miles could give a student the experience of a lifetime

Today is the last day that Aeroplan members can donate their unused miles to the York University Foundation and help enrich the international experience of York students.

“Donating your miles may be a great way for you to support students, especially if your miles may be expiring soon,” says Joanne Giannakopoulos, associate director, integrated marketing, York University Foundation.

Internationalization is a leading priority at York. The emerging economy without borders demands a new generation of global citizens who are equipped to communicate across cultures. That is why each year, York provides financial support to more than 300 students to participate in one of its official international programs.

Right: Internationalization at York provides students with an opportunity to gain international experience. It also provides faculty and students with increased opportunities for international research and collaboration.

With more than 50,000 students at York, the primary reason more students cannot be accommodated in these programs is the cost of international air fares, room and board. Donating unused Aeroplan Miles can make the difference.

To donate, Aeroplan members can complete and submit a form available here. A donation of Aeroplan Miles does not qualify for a tax receipt from the York University Foundation.
