Are you Yorkwise?
York University’s Transportation Services, in conjunction with Smart Commute – North Toronto, Vaughan, is participating in Pollution Probe’s Clean Air Commute 2008 taking place next week across the Greater Toronto Area. One lucky member of the York community who chooses to commute to work in a sustainable fashion next week will win a mountain bike for their efforts to improve the quality of the air.
Transportation Services is challenging faculty, staff and students at York to get involved in the annual Clean Air Commute and play a part in making Canada’s air cleaner. Climate change is one of the most serious issues facing our planet. By working together and improving commuting choices, York faculty, staff and students can help reduce smog and do their bit to fight climate change. It’s easier than you think.
A few small changes in your daily routine can help contribute to cleaner air. Even if you participate in the challenge for one day, you are still helping the cause and can still win a prize for your efforts.
Carpool, take transit, cycle, walk, or tune up your car and properly inflate your tires to participate and help improve air quality.
- A Raleigh Mountain Bike, awarded by Transportation Services to a York faculty or staff participant.
- Three grand prizes from Pollution Probe, available to all GTA participants, including a seven-night Caribbean cruise.
