Summer institute offers teaching program for new faculty

Every year, the Centre for the Support of Teaching  at York University offers new faculty members a chance to hone their teaching skills. The New Faculty Teaching at York  (NFTY) Summer Institute offers a four-day program in two-day modules on a variety of dates beginning July 30 and continuing to Aug. 20.  

Module 1 focuses on Planning for Student Learning
The first day concentrates on Planning Your Course Outline: Who Are You Teaching and What Will They Learn? and the second day, on Planning Your Course Outline: Constructing Clear Assignments. 

Module 2 focuses on Teaching for Learning
One-day sessions include Engaging Students in the Classroom: Choosing Effective Instructional Strategies, and  Working With Students Within and Beyond the Classroom: Using Technology-Enhanced Learning Tools. 

The institute takes place in Room 1014, TEL Building. Sessions are scheduled in the mornings and end with lunch.
