New staff nominee set for York University Board of Governors

As a result of an election at large, Debbie Jamieson has been re-nominated by full-time non-academic employees for membership on the York University Board of Governors.

This year 743 votes were received, an unprecedented number, exceeding last year’s total by almost 200 votes. The race was a tight one, the final tally resulting in a very close win for Jamieson. After confirmation by the board, she will begin serving her third consecutive term effective July 1, 2008.

Jamieson is a graduate program assistant in the Human Resources Management Graduate Program and has been employed at York University for more than 33 years. She will join Martin Garcia who was appointed last year as the other non-academic employee on the board.
