Chemistry whiz kids share their research

Six senior undergraduate students from the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science & Engineering, travelled to Kingston, Ont., recently to show off their chemical prowess at the 36th Southern Ontario Undergraduate Student Chemistry Conference.

Attending the conference were students Alexandra Younes, Stephanie Lombardo, Rosalyne Busca, Endri Gjiri, Christopher Lee and Patryk Wojtal. They were accompanied by Professor Robert McLaren.

The conference, held at Queens University on March 15, provided a venue for top chemistry students in Ontario to share the results of their research. York student Stephanie Lombardo placed second in the competitive portion of the conference for her presentation titled, "Development of Novel Biomettalic Interfaces Using Protein Nanotubes".
