Shop in person or online for textbooks at the York University Bookstore

The York University Bookstore has made a number of changes to improve the purchase of textbooks during the fall rush.

  • York students will be able to shop in person at the York University Bookstore located in York Lanes on the Keele campus. Hours have extended to accommodate the fall rush and the bookstore will stay open as late as midnight during the first week of September. To maintain a comfortable shopping environment, bookstore staff will continue to monitor traffic levels. Students are encouraged to come prepared with their book requirements by printing the listing available on the York University Bookstore Web site. The Web site also contains information on extended hours for August and September.

  • Students can also shop online through the York University Bookstore Web site. As a special promotion, the bookstore will be offering free shipping on Web orders over $100, for destinations in Ontario. The free shipping offer runs from Aug. 20 to Sept. 8.

  • York students living in residence on the Keele campus can also shop online. Residence students will be able to pick up their orders from either the York Shop, located just outside the bookstore in York Lanes, or from the new York University Bookmobile. Pickup service for the York Shop runs from Aug. 27 to Sept. 22., and for the bookmobile from Sept. 4 to 12. Visit the York University Bookstore Web site for details and hours of operation.

  • To reduce congestion at the bookstore in York Lanes, all course materials for undergraduate and graduate programs for both the Schulich School of Business and the School of Nursing will be sold in a separate satellite bookstore located in S167 Ross Bldg. The separate satellite location will be open Aug. 27 to Sept. 16. This satellite store will also serve as the central hub for buyback of used textbooks for all programs.

  • In its ongoing effort to enhance its services, the bookstore is offering a short online customer survey to get feedback for further improvements in service to the York University community. As well, the bookstore is holding a Win Your Books promotion, with a grand prize of 100 per cent of any single book purchase made through the bookstore. Visit the York University Bookstore Web site for details on the promotion.
