Lions to represent Canada at Rio 2016

Current and former Lions are in Rio, ready to compete in the 2016 Olympic Games. Named to Team Canada are Lions thrower Brittany Crew, Lions boxer Arthur Biyarslanov, former Lions sprinter Khamica Bingham, former Lions taekwondo competitor Melissa Pagnotta and honorary degree recipient and tennis player Daniel Nestor.

Lions athletes recognized for performance

Two York University Lions athletes were recently recognized for their performance. Alexandria Town earned a bronze medal at the Canada Cup of International Wrestling and Brittany Crew earned a spot on Athletics Canada’s North American, Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) U23 Championships.

Lions riding to Philly for SickKids fundraiser

Four York U student athletes and members of Toronto Police Services No. 31 Division will be cycling from Toronto’s SickKids Hospital to the Philadelphia Children’s Hospital. The group is making the trip to raise money for The Hospital for Sick Children through the Cops Cycle for Kids campaign.
