Arrest made in York University food court incident

York University strongly welcomes the news that Toronto Police Service has charged a suspect in the March 6 incident in the food court on our Keele campus, in which a firearm was discharged and two students were injured. The arrest was announced late this morning in a Toronto Police Service media release.

Kinesiology student Emanuel Ebrahim named 2014 President for a Day

On March 19, Emanuel Ebrahim, a third-year student in the School of Kinesiology and Health Science in the Faculty of Health, will become York University’s President for a Day. He will oversee the management of the institution and attend the president’s meetings, while President Mamdouh Shoukri will go to all of Ebrahim’s classes, labs and extracurricular activities.

York’s Schulich School of Business was ranked number one in Canada and 21st in the world in a global MBA survey conducted by Expansion magazine, a Time Warner business publication based in Mexico City. This marks the eighth straight year the school has been ranked number one in Canada and among the world’s top 25 business schools.
