After an extensive search, Sheila Cote-Meek has been appointed York University's first vice-president, equity, people and culture. The Executive Committee of the Board of Governors accepted this recommendation and appointed Cote-Meek to a five-year term. She will be taking office on Oct. 1.

York University launches service transformation

The initial areas of focus for service improvement will be the finance and human resource functions. The steering committee will work with function-specific transformation teams to identify the criteria for the selection of priority areas and confirm the scope of services that will be addressed.

Passings: Former comptroller John A. Heber

John A. Heber, long-time York University staff member, died peacefully in his 88th year on Sunday, June 9. He retired from York University in 1989 after completing 20 years in the University’s Department of Finance.
