Statement from Janet Morrison, vice-provost students, on York undergrad Amina Lawal

Members of the York University community are united in our deep concern for Amina Lawal, an undergraduate student who has not been in touch with her family or friends since the evening of Friday, March 20.

Toronto Police Service (TPS) is also concerned for Ms. Lawal’s safety and have requested the public’s assistance in locating her.  To that end, the University issued a bulletin to the York University community with the hope that someone with information about her whereabouts will contact police at 416-808-4300, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www.222tips.com .

We are hopeful that someone will come forward soon with information that will lead to Ms. Lawal’s safe return and urge anyone with information to contact TPS.
