Nomination deadline approaching for awards celebrating researchers

The Senate Committee on Awards announces the creation of a new award, the President’s Emerging Research Leadership Award, which recognizes full-time faculty members, who within 10 years of their first academic appointment have made a notable impact on their field(s). Candidates for this award should have made a significant contribution to advancing the University’s international reputation for research excellence, while significantly and positively contributing to one or more aspects of the intellectual life of the York University community.

With the introduction of this new award for early career faculty, the President’s Research Excellence Award is now specifically aimed at senior full-time faculty at the rank of professor. Candidates for this award should have made distinguished scholarly achievements and have had a notable impact on their field(s). They should have also made a significant contribution to advancing the University’s international reputation for research excellence, while significantly and positively contributing to one or more aspects of the intellectual life of the York University community.

The criteria and nomination forms can be found on the Senate Committee on Awards website. The deadline for nominations for both awards is Friday, Nov. 28, at 4:30pm.
