Watermain valve replacement Oct. 29 to Nov. 1, Keele campus

Water running out of tap

Due to necessary repairs to York University’s utility infrastructure, watermain value replacement will occur as follows:

Harry Sherman Crowe Housing Co-op

Preparation work will take place on the north side of The Chimneystack Road, just east of Ian Macdonald Boulevard, on Wednesday, Oct. 29. There will be a domestic water outage on Thursday, Oct. 30.

Leonard G. Lumbers Building

Preparation work will take place just south of Observatory Road on the east side of the Lumbers Lot on Friday, Oct. 31. There will be a domestic water outage on Saturday, Nov. 1 (Sunday, Nov. 2, is the back-up day in case it rains on Nov. 1).

Work will take place from 7am to 5pm daily.

How will this impact the York community?

  • Pedestrian traffic will be routed away from the immediate work area.
  • Some noise and vibration in the immediate area can be expected.
  • The contractor performing the work will be available at all times to assist with vehicle and pedestrian movement around the site when necessary.

When travelling throughout the construction zone, watch for and obey all traffic signs and traffic control personnel.
