Work those extra pounds off, get fit and have fun while learning Krav Maga and/or Muay Thai in the new year.

Krav Maga is a very practical self-defense system that uses the natural reactions of the human body to provide defensive techniques against various unarmed and armed attacks and situations. Krav Maga classes will start Monday, Jan. 13, 2014 and run even Monday and Wednesday, from 5 to 6:30pm and every Tuesday and Thursday, from noon to 1pm.

The ancient art and sport of Muay Thai was originally developed by the people of Thailand as a combat tool and is currently an integral part of Thai culture and history. It is now a competitive ring sport that hosts the best conditioned athletes in non-stop explosive action.

Muay Thai classes will start Monday, Jan. 13, 2014 and run even Monday and Wednesday, from noon to 1:30pm and every Tuesday and Thursday, from 4:30 to 6pm

Classes for both will be held in Studio 2, Tait McKenzie Centre, Keele campus. The fee for members for the one-hour Krav Maga class is $84 and $125 for non-members. For the one-and-a-half-hour class in both Krav Maga and Muay Thai, the cost is $104 for members and $155 for non-members. There will be 16 sessions in each discipline. No experience is necessary.
