safety.yorku.ca_mobileappThe York U Safety App is now available on Blackberry, as well as for iPhone and Android smartphones.

If you haven’t done so, download the app or scan the QR code.

The app is part of York University’s Safer Together campaign, which represents the University’s commitment to building a safer campus and community together with its faculty, staff and students. The objective of the safety campaign is to foster continued and shared engagement in community safety.

The York U Safety app includes a number of features. Users can make direct calls to York University’s Security Services or 911 emergency services, there is a handy photo feature and flashlight for taking a picture of a safety concern, which can then be sent to the University’s Security Services. The app has links to maps of the Keele campus, goSAFE and Village Shuttle information and schedules, and information about the Centre for Human Rights and the Sexual Assault Survivors Support Line & Leadership (SASSL).

Feedback is always welcome and can be provided through the app under About-Preferences, or by e-mail to safety@yorku.ca.
