Call for Presentations: First annual Teaching and Learning Conference at York University

TIFTeaching in Focus (TIF) is the first annual teaching and learning conference hosted by York University’s Teaching Commons. The conference will take place on May 23. This peer reviewed conference is being organized for everyone who teaches at the University.

Faculty and staff working in the Teaching Commons are hard at work planning an exciting day. They want to hear about innovations or something you normally do that you have improved or tried to do in a different way, how well it worked and what if anything you would do differently next time.

Teachers from across the University are invited to share their experiences using innovative and effective approaches to teaching through:

  • interactive workshops (40 minutes)
  • presentations (20 minutes)
  • poster sessions

The conference will take place in the 0007 Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) Building on York University’s Keele campus. Organizers are planning an invigorating day that will focus on teaching and making connections with colleagues from other areas of the University.

The Teaching Commons is inviting proposals for the TIF 2013 conference program. To submit a proposal, go to Submit Conference proposals. You can submit more than one idea. To help with planning the conference, organizers request that brief proposals be submitted by March 15.

The registration deadline for TIF is Thursday, May 16. Visit the TIF registration page to indicate your interest in attending the conference.
