Information session on new law on e-mail and communication use

On Thursday, Jan. 17, from 10:30am to noon, there will be an Education/Information Session on the new Canadian law on electronic mail use known as “Anti-Spam Legislation”.

A legal expert on the new legislation, Barry Sookman, will present and answer questions. The session is hosted by York’s Office of the Counsel.

This is new Canadian legislation that York faculty and staff need to understand to use electronic and other unsolicited mail in your work. The new legislation is viewed as one of the world’s toughest electronic mail laws, with fines of up to $10 million for contravention.

Please mark your calendars to attend this important session!
