Steeles Avenue West lane restrictions start this week

TTC Subway car

Starting this week, Steeles Avenue West will be reduced to two lanes in each direction from Murray Ross Parkway to Founders Road for utility relocation work and associated subway construction. These lane restrictions will be in effect for approximately the next three months.

Lane Restrictions & Construction Vehicle Access:

Traffic restrictions on Steeles Avenue West will continue and be modified to suit subway construction activities over the next three years. While driving through this construction zone, use extra care and reduced speeds. Traffic movement will be reduced to ensure public safety and to allow for construction vehicles to access the site on both north and south sides of Steeles Avenue West.

Work Hours:

Work hours will normally run between 7am and 7pm, Monday to Friday. (No work may be done on Statutory Holidays). During the work, there may be construction-related noise. The City of Toronto and City of Vaughan have approved a noise by-law amendment and/or exemption which will allow the project contractors to perform overnight work and weekend work, when required, to minimize long-term disruptions and keep the project on schedule. As construction continues at the Steeles West Station site, construction-related notices will be issued.
